The IRFAR is led by a Steering Committee which selects a coordination committee consisting of a General Coordinator, a Media Coordinator, and an Administrative Coordinator to oversee the functions and activities of the organization.
Salah Ali, General Coordinator
Mr. Salah Ali is General Coordinator of the Iraq Religious Freedom and Anti-discrimination Roundtable, and Fellow with the Middle East Action Team of the Religious Freedom Institute. He has extensive experience in projects of peacebuilding, social cohesion, and protection. He holds a BA in International Studies (The Open University UK), a MA in Peace and Development Studies (Leeds Beckett University), a certificate in politics (University of Oxford) and is a PhD researcher in Politics and International Relations at Leeds Beckett University.
Dr. Salah Oreibi Abbas AL-Obeidi
Dr. Salah Oreibi is a member of the IRFAR. He is the Chairman of the Central Human Rights Committee at the University of Kirkuk, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of YAMAN Foundation for Humanitarian Affairs and a member of several local and international organizations. He is a trainer in the field of human rights and peace building, and has participated in many training courses with local and international organizations and government institutions. He is the Head of the Committee for Dialogue and Community Peace in Kirkuk/ under the supervision of the Prime Minister’s Office. He is a member of the expert committee of the People Relief Organization PAO. He has participated in many local and international conferences and training in (Turkey, UAE, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Egypt, Italy, USA and others). He has won many awards and letters of appreciations. Dr. Salah has many published research papers in the field of economic history and human rights, plus to several books in economic history. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Masters in Economic History and a PhD in the history of the modern Arab East / University of Mosul.
Prof. Omar Najm Al-Din Anja Samad Al-Jbari
Prof. Omar Najm Al-Din is the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Kirkuk/ Iraq. He holds a bachelor's, master's and doctorate degree from the College of Islamic Sciences from the University of Baghdad, specializing in Jurisprudence and its principles. He has many academic, teaching, advisory and supervisory activities at the College of Law for undergraduate and postgraduate students - Private Law at the University of Kirkuk, and also in the College of Education for Human Sciences / Postgraduate Students / Sciences of the Qur’an. He is a teacher and scientific advisor at Al-Kitab Private University in Kirkuk Governorate. He supervised many graduation researches for the final stages at the College of Law, and he is a scientific assessor, supervisor, and discussant of theses and university research.
He wrote more than (50) scientific researches and authored (5) books.
He submitted (6) scientific studies and pioneering projects to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding examination instructions, the central admission system for students in Iraqi universities, the scientific clearing system and Kurdish study / and research projects related to community peace
He participated in several scientific conferences, symposia and workshops (international & local) with research, studies and working papers. And he also participated in the establishment of many training courses and various symposia (international & local)
Prof. Lamya Yassin Zgheir
Prof. Lamya Yassin works at Al-Mustansiriya University/ College of Education/Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences under the specialization of a PhD in Psychological Educational Sciences/Media. She holds a diploma in diplomatic and political relations, international disputes and human resources - modern management - family and educational counseling - cognitive-behavioral therapy. She is active in civil society organizations, human rights and providing assistance and relief to refugees.
Prof. Lamya is a member of several NGOs, including: Psychologists Without Borders, the Iraqi Association for Mental Health for Psychotherapy - Peace Academics Organization, Academics Syndicate, Iraqi Society for Social Sciences - Women’s Affairs Committee - Committee for Development Needs in the Poverty Reduction Project - Health Prevention Committee in Violence Prevention Project with the World Health Organization - Member of the Women's Research Unit at the University of Baghdad - Member of the International Association of Universities - Member of the Association of Arab Universities. She participated in many development courses held by UNICEF to combat violence against women and children. In addition to participating in psychological mobilization of the displaced, raising awareness in reducing addiction, and raising awareness of promoting the rights of minorities in Iraq. She has published eleven books in the field of specialization and human rights, and more than ninety research papers have been published in the field of specialization. She received the best scientific output for a book in 2011. She has participated in many conferences and workshops on the International Convention for Persons with Disabilities, and ways to advance human rights programs (ISESCO), as well as many Local, Arab and International seminars. She provided many human development courses and workshops. I participated in the training course for teaching staff that the Ministry of Education worked outside of Iraq in 2014, and received many thanks letters and certificates of participation. She also supervised many master's and doctoral students and discussed many master's and doctoral students. She worked in media and has many posts & interviews on satellite channels and radio stations.

International Religious Freedom Roundtable (Washington, D.C.) The IRF Roundtable is a convenor of NGOs and individuals from any and no faith that work for freedom of religion or belief. We launch multi-faith initiatives and letters that any participant group proposes. We meet regularly both exclusively as NGOs and together with government representatives. Working Groups allow us to focus on specific issues, regions, or practice areas.
